Our IBDP 1 students embarked on an inspiring sustainability journey through a hands-on terrace gardening and composting project that began in December and continues to thrive today. Over the past six months, they have transformed a simple terrace into a green space using only organic materials — from compost-enriched soil to seaweed-based biofertilizers.
What started as a sustainability initiative has blossomed into a rewarding experience. The students successfully grew methi, palak, basil, and capsicum — all organically! Their efforts were not just limited to cultivation; they also enjoyed the fruits of their labor in the form of delicious methi parathas, fresh pesto made from home-grown basil, and more.
This ongoing project has deepened their understanding of environmental responsibility. Motivated by this experience, the students have created this video tutorial to encourage the entire community to try their hand at sustainable living through home gardening.
